A5 (148 × 210 mm) is the default size for local service leaflets in Ireland and the UK. You get enough room for a photo, three benefits, and contact details without the cost of A4. These layout tips keep the piece readable at arm's length on a doorstep or counter.

Front: one message

Lead with one headline that states the outcome, not your company history.

  • Boiler service from €89, book this week
  • New patients welcome, evening appointments

Use one hero image (your van, team, or finished job). Avoid busy collages. Keep logos small; the offer is the star.

Back: proof and action

The back carries details people read if the front hooked them:

  • Three bullet benefits (area served, reviews, years in business if true)
  • Phone number in large type
  • QR code with a clear call to action (see examples)

Place the QR bottom-right with a quiet margin. Follow print tips for minimum size.

Typography and spacing

  • Headline: 24–32 pt bold
  • Body: 10–12 pt, max 40 characters per line
  • Safe zone: 5 mm inside trim so nothing clips

Use two fonts at most. High contrast between text and background beats fancy colour palettes.

Before print
